Valdez Glacier Kayaking Trip

The rain made us cold but could not stop God's beautiful creation from thrilling us on our kayaking/glacier hike trip with the Landis family!
Getting suited up (they ran out of smalls ;)
We rode a van down to the boat launch hauling our inflatable kayaks. Valdez Glacier enters into a freshwater lake so we didn't need ocean kayaks.
Getting all geared up and boats ready:
Ready to roll:
It was soo pretty kayaking around the ice bergs, even though the tops of most of them were covered with dirt and rock.
The coolest part, by far, was paddling into several ice caves!!!
The blue was magnificent!! (These photos are NOT enhanced!!!)
Our hardy group of two families + 1 guide (the 2nd guide was taking the picture):
(Joey's chomping on a chunk of thousands-of-years-old glacial ice).
We pulled over for a lunch break on the glacier....
....and then took a 1 hr hike checking out all the cool geological features that our Creator hand-crafted for our viewing pleasure!
It was so cool to look down and see all the blue ice peeking out through the pieces of rock & shale that we were walking on:
Valdez Glacier (you can see it continuing around the curve of the mountain in the background) was used as the "All-American" trail during the Klondike Goldrush. Of course it's receding miles since then.
What an AWESOME day exploring God's AWESOME beauty!!
