Cousins Across the River Delta

We had another special visit with Anissa's cousin's family (on the Buerge side).
We had to ride a boat to get across to where their community is, which the kids thought was really cool!
We even rode under the pipeline!
Then we rode in the back of a pick up truck get from the River up to their house.
(Of course, Jonas loved hanging off the back with his 2nd cousin)!
The first thing we did was walk up to the top of the bluff to get a view.
The dads & the boys.
The 4 cousins.
The boys catching grasshoppers.
The kids had fun jumping on the trampoline, swimming, shooting squirrels with beebee guns (boys) and making crafts (girls).
We loved their beautiful greenhouse & flower beds!
An herb spiral:
As always with each family visit, we ate like kings & queens!!
Each delicious homegrown/homemade meal is such a delight!!
They sent us on our way with mouth-watering Copper River Red salmon (fresh caught) & corn on the cob!
The salmon was smoked to perfection in this home-made smoker.
Seasoned with lime & fresh thyme.
Each time the kids get attached to their second cousins, the time is over too quickly and sadly, we have to move on :(
Each visit with family has been a precious gift!!!
