Best campsite ever!

We drove in as far as you can on the McCarthy Rd. It dead-ends at the Kennicott River. There is a primitive campground on the edge of the River before you cross the footbridge (only accessible to pedestrians & bicycles).
We stayed here 2 nights and spent one whole day across the footbridge in the town of McCarthy, the historical Kennicott Mine, and hiking to/on Root Glacier. Both nights were our best sleeps yet, because of the free white noise provided by the rushing river! :)
(The water is gray because it is heavy-laden with glacial silt).
How many tent sites have this looming in the background?:
Cooking with a glacier view...doesn't get any better than that! :)

Coolest outhouse ever! Not only does it have a cushioned embroidered toilet seat, fresh flowers, pretty posters on the wall....
....but it has a pull string so you can open the flap to see the view of the glacier:
And with potential wildlife viewing in the area, what more could one ask for? Lol!
The only bummer was no trash cans, so we had to drive the 3 hrs back with garbage on our laps.
