San Diego Zoo
A & A's favorite were the panda & koala bears. Joey's favorite was the primates (specifically the gorillas & orangutans). Jonas' favorite were all the different little monkeys, the Chinese Acrobat show, and when he got to do flips on the jumping ride (hmm....any connection here?) The biggest excitement of the day was when the lion roared continuously and then sprayed the crowd....twice! (We didn't get hit). The well-you-dont-see-that-every-day moment was the hyenas mating. The cutest moment was the 3mth old jaguar babies wrestling. And here's your educational moment of the day (interesting piece of trivia we learned last year in Africa): Asian elephants have smaller ears (kind of in the shape of Asia) and African elephants have bigger ears in the shape of Africa! Doesn't God have a sense of humor? We've never seen them together in the same pen before. ! Riding the ariel tram (and spotting the animals below) was a highlight for all of us!
