Las Vegas :(

Well it's called "sin city" for a reason. It was not this bad 11 yrs ago when we passed thru or we would've never considered stopping with our kids this time (on our way from Death Valley to Hoover Dam). They might as well rename the strip "Porn Ave" because it was really THAT bad. There were people standing on every corner wearing shirts that said "girls to your door in minutes" and passing out cards with naked women on them. Well everyone would throw the cards down so the sidewalks were like a carpet of naked women. Very disgusting and disappointing! If anyone brings their teenage son here they are insane and if you wouldn't want your husband to look at porn on the computer, why would you let him come to Vegas? It's everywhere....big trucks passing with huge pictures of naked women on the sides, billboards, etc. We had to get Jonas out of there, so our stop ended up being really short. We thought it would be cool for the kids to see the (fake) Eiffel Tower, gondolas at the Venetian, the Egyptian Pyramid, etc. but it was NOT worth exposing them to that junk! There ARE neat things for them to do for free like the 3D movie at the 4-story MnM store, ride the elevator up the inside of the giant Coke bottle, watch the dancing fountains at the Bellagio (synched to music), etc. but again there are other big cities to choose from with free/fun things for kids to do. We have been to a lot of big cities and none of them are as open about their female industry as LV. Even Chicago "tactfully" disguises all their billboard advertisements as gentlemen's clubs and you only see the woman's face or eyes. So sad what our society has come to and how low we have stooped in disrespecting & dishonoring women. It was a bummer, too, because our timing just happened to be the week of Deaf Expo so we were going to go to the big kick-off event (an outdoor laser light show) but we bailed and left early. Please, don't go to Vegas!
