Our First Stop

Our first day of traveling brought us to our good friends' house in Minneapolis: David & Kristy Ries (Anissa's childhood friend and college roomate). We didn't arrive at our destination until late into the evening and spend the next 4 1/2 hour chatting it up.

We were overwhelmed by their hospitality, kindness, and willingness to serve us like Christ.

The next morning we had homemade granola, which I quickly asked for the recipe, and enjoyed a hearty bowl, topped with greek yogurt and fresh strawberries, along with a cold pressed coffee and a morning of leisureness and conversation.

This was followed by time spend at a local waterfall park where we played frisbee, soccer, and ate a picnic lunch. After lunch, we walked to the falls and our kids played on the rocks by the river's edge.

 To top this off, both kids got scooter rides with David! Jonas drove home from the park and then Alea drove to get our pizza for dinner!
